Nordic Pole Walking

Come out and join our trained Nordic Pole Walking instructors as they take you on a 45 minute walk around the neighbourhood. The group meets in the south lobby of the CHCN just before 1:00 PM. This is a seasonal, outdoor program that runs from April to November. Class will be cancelled if there is inclement weather such as heavy rain and/or thunderstorms. Equipment is provided.

Our Heart Wise Exercise Programs

All of these programs meet the following criteria:

1. Encourage regular, daily aerobic exercise

2. Incorporate warm-up, cool-down and self-monitoring with all exercise sessions

3. Encourage exercise at a safe level and offer options to modify intensity

4. Suitable for those living with chronic condition and cardiovascular disease

5. Have a documented emergency plan.


As a non-profit organization, we rely on generous donations for the sustainability of our community programs. These donations go back in to the programs to cover costs such as certified yoga instructor fees, adding additional specialty classes and updating equipment to ensure that the space and programs are as accessible as possible.

Please remember donations (while very much appreciated) are NOT mandatory. We never want finances to be a reason that someone cannot participate in our programming.
